Would love to get this for my son, but I know it would end up being a trip to the emergency room or worse:( That is too much bike for a 14 year old that has never rode one. GLWS

That's too much bike for a 35 year old too, but I rode the shit out of one. In my humble opinion the 450EXC of that era is the best bike KTM ever made. It's the ideal blend of useable torque and just plain blistering power. One of those with a Rekluse auto clutch is a weapon in the woods.
Fuck man, I gotta stop talking about them, I'm getting misty.

I sent this to a guy on Facebook who is looking for a bike. Don’t know if he called you. I don’t know shit about dirt bikes. All he said was he was looking for a 450 and this was a 450. Hope it works out.

I agree with CMAC on the 450 EXC. I have a 525 EXC twin pipe and the big crank is a huge gyroscope and it is hard to ride singletrack. 450 is supposed to be the 4 stroke KTM sweet spot. Reinforce the frme to stop flex and they are good to go. Front brake lever is always going soft but some guys put on a Yamaha hand brqke handle. Recluse clutch is also popular, and I wish my bike had one.

525 is a bad mofo. Had a 690 myself. 75hp single cylinder is a riot.
