A friend of mine has a bare 4.6 block with the internals out of a GT if he'd be interested in it.

There are some Mark 8s at LKQ but I think they have the earlier split port heads. They are the teksid block, though.

if you arent hot rodding a mark 8 motor will do just fine and is tons cheaper and also lighter with the aluminum block. Main perk of the cobra is the forged crank but that doesnt matter for a stock motor. I would leave the b heads but it ya just hate em look for a 99 and up continental as they have the cobra c heads. i got a set complete with cams from a scrap yard for $60.

I wouldnt pay watever lkq is askin for a complete motor. Runnin mark 8s are cheap and non running you might break even with the roller at the scrap yard.

he has parts to put a motor together, but is lookin for a long block that he can just put his intake on and go for now. that way he can save his money a build the motor he wants later down the road.

that continental motor sounds like what he is lookin for. thanks

NO NO NO NO NO not a continental motor. The block bell pattern is diffent. The conti block wont bolt up. Sorry if i was unclear but i meant the 99 conti heads are what you want. Not the entire motor

sorry man. i thought i was clear but i suppose i wasnt. fwd wont work in rwd application. i feel bad now. hopefully you fix the situation. i know you didnt want to put a motor together but if you are stuck i have a teksid block i will sell ya cheap and most/all of the parts should swap over. but by the time you work on it and by gaskets you are getting close to mark 8 longblock money.

A Mark 8 (teksid) shorblock from LKQ is like $200, a longblock with the aforementioned heads is like $350.

Getting a long block to make the car go down the road while building a badass hotrod engine

and if you buy a LKQ long block, my advice is to bring the biggest 1/2" breaker bar you got, 2 cans of pb blaster, and a battery powered sawzall. Junkyard engine pulls are a bitch
