83 Toyota 4x4 35" Tires SOLD!

Post by Kyle » Mon Jan 21, 2008 12:16 pm

1983 Toyota Solid Axle 4x4

35" mud tires

Locked rear diff, open front

Honda seats which are very comfortable, some bench seat in the rear.

full size spare

Its 100% made to go offroad. Its street legal as far as headlights/taillights, just need to register it which i never cared to. I trailered it.

Current State: It will run just doesn't move. We rolled it over (softly on its side) and the clutch fluid leaked out while it was upside down. It drove back to the trailer but when I went to unload it i realized it leaked out as it didn't want to go into gear. I pushed it off the trailer where its sat since.

Reason for selling: I have driven it once over the 1.5 years of owning it. I just have to many toys and not enough time. I need $800 and no less.

How much damage did you do when you rolled it?

Still gotta beat on the floorboard behind the passenger to get the fuel pump to pump?

I literally didn't see any damage when we rolled it. It was a very slow roll into a muddy area.

I never had to beat on the fuel pump to get it to work.

heck yea man, its sitting in my back yard where i unloaded it last year (literally 12 months ago lol, not just 2008 lol).

I think a bird put a nest in it to be honest. my dog ALWAYS runs out to it like she sees a bird in it. The bird will come free with the truck!

Have you cranked it since you unloaded it?

It cranked to unload it. But with the clutch fluid gone, it would have to either idle in nuetral. I just used the starter with it in reverse to unload it.

If your interested man, i'll do whatever it takes to get it going before you took it. I bought and put clutch fluid in it, just didn't have an extra set of hands to bleed it.

But last time i went to start it, i had to jump it cause it sat so long and all the lights came on but the push button didn't start. I think the wiring to the button just needs looked at. But all the wires are yellow so i was lost. Wiring is not my specialty lol!

Don't worry about getting it running. I know the fabricators. I'm gonna go talk to Andy this week and see how open he is to helping me with it if I get it. Andy kinda had a love/hate relationship with that thing. If he tells me I am on my own I doubt I will fool with it.

Of course there is always the Tough Truck Competition at the VBC in a couple of weeks. :D

Haha, dang man, now you got me thinking tough truck LOL! That would be a ball!

We tinkered on the truck some since Andy had it. I welded the back seats into place (they were just loosly in there) I modified the "doors" to be me user friendly. I added some bolts that were missing throughout the truck.

Motor wise, she is running great. We drove it around Andys place when i bought it and loaded it right up. Ran great out at Wooly's when we trailered it up there. While we were there, we fought the starter button issue some but nothign major. I think its just a loose wire somewhere. I'll put air in the tires tonight and see if i can get it going.

Welded the seat

That was the funnst part of the ride when Andy would pitch it up about 45+ degrees and you would almost fall out. Or he would hit a ditch/rock/bump and you fell forward and knocked yourself out on the passenger's seat.
