2JZ-GE compared to a 2JZ-GTE

are these motors basically the same thing. i've read the only difference is the 2JZ-GTE has oil squirters installed in the block to aid in cooling the pistons. basically i'm wondering how the 2JZ-GE responds to boost with stock internals.

It responds by vomiting its internals onto the ground. Ask BoostedIS.

Theres a certain red 2JZ-GE running around here that has been turbo'd. All stock internals, running 20psi on a T70 and is still running fine. He needs to upgrade fuel systems though. It's not putting out NEARLY enough fuel for the amount of air it's getting.

my main reason for asking the question is i was just curious why no one ever turbo lexus sc300's. it seems like it would be a neat sleeper to build.

the heads are different as well.
weaker internals
weaker fuel system


you CAN turbo a stock 2JZ-GE, but without a good tune, as CMcCarthy stated, it will "vomit it's internals on the ground"
