Does anybody local do quality header/ high temp coating?

I used to use Nitroplate in Nashville, but they don't do direct customer work any more. Is there anybody local who does Jethot, Nitroplate, etc now? I would really rather have somebody I can carry parts to instead of sending them off again. Shipping headers sucks.

How much do they tone the heat down? I'm just curious.. Have a fat two stroke pipe that is scarring my right leg, but it's too damn hot for pants lol

You can't touch the pipes in use, but you really can grab them maybe 5 minutes after the engine is shut off. There is a significant amount of additional insulation.

Oh ok. Might be a good idea on the manifold and turbine side on my truck then. Keeping that heat inside will help spool a bigger single.

The exhaust coatings report testing along with the others show great results. Insulation/heat migration prevention and dissipation are greatly enhanced.

Remember hot air by all means moves faster than cold air

Mark Kennemer for local Cerakote or DIY which is also very easy and cost effective just time consuming.

I've done high temp cerakote before, and it looks nice for a while, but doesn't last nearly as long as a professional system. I'll ping Kennemer about his process and what he gets to do it.

Yeah Cerakote is mostly amateur hobbyist stuff so I’d shy away if you’re wanting the pro stuff

I used It's Not Paint for the headers on my racecar about 10 years ago, but i've never run it so I can't testify to longevity. It seems like they coated the headers on Alan's turbo car back then too, and it held up ok for a dedicated race car. No idea how it would survive street use.

Columbia coatings had a no cure black that was pretty good you just have to apply it then.

Blast with AlOx ( In a cabinet that has never had SIO2 in it)
Handle with gloves
Apply thin with an airbrush.

Run it on the car to cure.
