Redstone did both of mine. Both were very pain free. The only thing of note is they will not loan more than book value but from my dealings with them thier book is usually on the high side.

I got a personal loan. May or may not be feasible depending on the price of the car.

Book value just like any other car. If the car has modifications, he will need to get an appraisal to have a better chance of financing what the car is actually worth.

401k loan. I have done that will vehicles in the past and the interest paid back is to yourself. I think my company's current loan interest rate for 401k is around 4.25% for a "General Purpose Loan".

I got a buddy in Tampa that works for TECO, Tampa Electric, and they had that option. I've never had that with any of my 401k's. It's pretty Cool.
