They are a driveability improvement, not a performance improvement. They make more power and are quicker at the strip without them, but not having them makes for a gutless turd when tooting around on the street. 4.56 or 4.88 gears help tremendously with this issue.

The super early RT10s like that are really really really unrefined, like on the level of a mediocre kit car. Unless it's 50-60% of street value, I'd pass. Hard to sell and not particularly fun to drive.

I used It's Not Paint for the headers on my racecar about 10 years ago, but i've never run it so I can't testify to longevity. It seems like they coated the headers on Alan's turbo car back then too, and it held up ok for a dedicated race car. No idea how it would survive street use.
