Re: Diagnosing bad AC compressor

It happens. Seen it many many times. I’m not saying you don’t have an issue, but the only way to properly diag it is to evac/recharge and see what what it does with a known good charge.

Re: Diagnosing bad AC compressor

System may be full of air. Need to evacuate the system, pull a vacuum and properly charge it and go from there.

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

The structure in that area under the car is all single layer sheet steel, and the bore inside the floor pan where the center sleeve of the bushing presses in is so close to the ID of the sleeve that you can't get purchase in either direction to push on it. I wa...

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

did some work on the XJ. 15x10 wheels, Osram DOT and SAE legal LED headlights, smoked clear turn and marker housings (with switchback bulbs), and added a LockRight rear lunchbox locker. got the front disassembled to install the locker in it, and realized the one they sent was mis-labeled. ordered an...

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

found the left front u-joint was baked on the XJ, so i replaced it with a Spicer unit, then installed 4" longer braided brake hoses on the front. not using the rubber hoses as a travel limiter is much nicer. took it and did a little wheeling in Iron Gap TN yesterday. it did amazingly well having two...

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

i swapped from a 3 7/8 drop pitman to a 5" drop and changed the driving dynamics of this XJ 100%. it doesn't feel like it's trying to kill you every time you hit a bump now!

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

sold the closest thing i had to a HotRod Saturday. still have my WRX though. i have most of the parts to put together a 500hp 2.5L for it, but it runs, so it's hard to intentionally make it not run. I did pick up a decent '01 XJ with some nice parts yesterday though. back to my 2500 truck being the ...

wouldn't answer the phone for several hours, then left a bearing out of a CV joint. destroyed the joint in about 5 ft of movement.
